21st meeting of the Wadden Sea Board in Vester Vedsted (DK)

On 17 November 2017, the three national delegations of Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands as well as advisors from the Wadden Sea Forum and the NGOs Waddenvereniging and WWF met for the 21st meeting of the Wadden Sea Board.

Seal counts 2017: Harbour seal pup count reaches all-time high; overall population stagnates

During the 2017 aerial surveys for harbour seal counts, the number of newborn harbour seal pups in the Wadden Sea registered was the highest since the first surveys in 1975.

20th Anniversary of the Wadden Sea Plan

On 22 October 1997, at the 8^th Ministerial Conference in Stade, Germany, the three Wadden Sea States Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands adopted the Wadden Sea Plan, the common policy and management plan for the protection and sustainable management of the Wadden Sea Area.

60 experts discuss means of climate change adaption at workshop in Wilhelmshaven (DE)

In cooperation with the Task Group Climate of the Wadden Sea Board, the EU Interreg NSR project “Building with Nature” held a two-day workshop on best practices beyond the region in climate change adaptation.

On 16 June 2017, the three national delegations as well as advisors from the NGO Waddenvereniging and the Wadden Sea Forum met at the city hall of Harlingen, Netherlands, for the 20th meeting of the Wadden Sea Board (WSB 20).

Architectural competition for new Trilateral Cooperation building started

The City of Wilhelmshaven as awarding authority has made the requisite documents for the architectural competition for the new building for the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation available on its website. A preliminary EU-wide application procedure has started to select 12 participants (architects in cooperation with landscape architects).
