Andrew Carryer Joins Common Wadden Sea Secretariat
Andrew Carryer has taken up the role of Project Officer for Renewable Energy at the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS), where he leads work on the LANICE project and other initiatives aimed at minimising the impact of renewable energy and associated infrastructure on the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. Andrew previously led the environmental programme at the Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI), where he worked closely with transmission system operators, NGOs, and regulators to reduce the impact of the expanding high-voltage grid network on the EU’s protected habitats and species.
Andrew has also spent several years working on marine issues, managing an NGO coalition advocating to end illegal fishing. He holds an MSc in Environmental Policy from the University of Edinburgh.
